1. God Loves You and Offers a Wonderful Plan for your life. The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). God’s plan is for each of us to have a meaningful life. [Christ speaking] “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly” [that it might be full and meaningful] (John 10:10).   Why is it that most people are not experiencing this abundant, eternal life? Because…

2. Man is sinful and separated from God. He cannot experience God’s love. The Bible says,  “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).   Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his stubborn self‐will, he chose to go his own independent way, and fellowship with God was broken. This self‐will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin.  The Bible says, “The wages of sin is death” [spiritual separation from God] (Romans 6:23)   God is holy and man is sinful and therefore a great gulf separates God and man. Man is continually trying to reach God to live forever with Him and to “bridge” this gulf.  Mankind attempts to reach God through their own efforts…by attempting to live a good life or by being religious. Inevitably, however, all men, women, boys and girls fall short. But their is GOOD NEWS…

3. The GOOD NEWS is that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth to save men, women, boys and girls from all their sins.   Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He left Heaven and came to earth and lived his entire life without sinning. He purposely died on the cross for you and I.  The Bible says that He died on the cross for all of the worlds sins.  “God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).  He proved that He was God and rose from the dead after dying.   “Christ died for our sins…He was buried…He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures…He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred…”                   (1 Corinthians 15:3‐6).   Jesus is the only way to God…”Jesus said, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the  Father, but through Me” (John 14:6).  It is not enough just to know this…

4. We all must individually receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.   We can receive Him by praying (talking to God).  The Bible tells us that we should repent and turn away (forsake) our sinful lifestyle. God knows the attitude of our heart. If you are truly repentant and ask Him to forgive you and to save you from your sin, God hears your prayers.  Scripture says, “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God , even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12)   We receive Christ through Faith. God’s Word says, “By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9). When we receive Christ as our Savior, we experience a new birth.    “Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” (John 3:3).

If you have never accepted Jesus or become born again, perhaps God is leading you today:

“Lord Jesus, I thank you for your love and that you came into the world to die for me. I confess that I have directed my own life. I am a sinner and have sinned against God. Please forgive me of my sins and make me the person You want me to be. I repent and want to turn away from my sinful lifestyle. I now place my trust in You. Thank You for what you did on the cross for me…dying for my sins.  I receive you in my life as my Savior. I thank you that you answered my prayer and by faith I believe that You are now in my life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.”

Is it the desire of your heart to make this prayer yours?   If yes, pray now and according to his promise, Jesus Christ will come into your life. For those who have believed and accepted Him, His Word promises that they can have assurance of salvation. (John 5:24/1 John 5:11-13)

If you’ve prayed this prayer we suggest you tell a Christian or someone at Calvary Baptist Church. Our desire is to see you grow and mature in your new relationship with Jesus Christ!
